Samenvatting
The ITS Simulator, which consists of road traffic simulator MELROSE, a vehicle dynamics simulator, a 3D-CG road environment simulator and an ITS multi-functional terminal, is being developed, as an in-vehicle ITS-HMI: Human Machine Interface in order to evaluate effectiveness and performance of ITS. This simulator can simulate the interactions among persons, roads and vehicles under various road and traffic conditions in real-time. It is considered as a platform of design/evaluating tools and common language among the users, the administrators and the engineers. AHS: Advanced cruise-assisted Highway Systems are being implemented in this simulator as a prototype of Smartways, and their effectiveness is being evaluated. (A*)
