Because of the lack of organized, convenient reference material dealing with mental retardation, PsycINFO began work in 1981 to develop a reference tool that would provide a view of the literature published in this area from 1971 through 1980, inclusively. Designed for parents, educators researchers, and practitioners, the aim of this volume is to provide in a concise, informative manner, abstracts that chronicle the developments in mental retardation during this 10-year period.
