Samenvatting

The relation between accidents and drivers' personalities is investigated. A sample of 86 male drivers between the age of 18 and 21 were divided in 3 groups: records without offences, records with offences and records with offences and accidents. Four tests were done. Results clearly showed that personality plays an important role in accidents. The combination of supremacy of the political value, the absence of group conformity and the externalisation of aggression among accident-involved drivers, represents a distinct psychological pattern.
