Samenvatting
This article deals with public lighting in terms of improvement to the amenity and safety of the urban environment. It is emphasised that the design and style of public lighting should be considered at an early stage in town planning and design, and that it should be integrated with the requirements of traffic safety, road lighting, signs and signals.
