Samenvatting

Standards of transit service should take into account customer desires, technical capability, land use and land planning, present and future requirements of society, the implications of historical freedom of choice, and economics. Questions relating to service standards are discussed. These questions concern the need for bus transportation, the criteria for good service, and the manner in which an adequate level of service may be achieved. The criteria of past standards are outlined.
