Samenvatting

The type of utility reasoning common in microeconomics to conflict theory is applied. The simple model constructed is not meant to reproduce an empirical situation, but to serve as a tool for analysing and developing concepts. The discussion is limited to conflict between two actors, with two variables: means and goals, and the latter are conceived of as infinitely divisible. Both situations where the opponent is passive or non-existent, and situations where he competes for the same goal are discussed. Various game theoretical concepts are fitted into the basic scheme.
