Samenvatting
A scanning tour was undertaken by representatives of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). On April 30-May 16, 2004, the 14 participants visited Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom to document the state of the practice in design, construction, maintenance, and monitoring of quiet pavement systems and identify innovative practices, as well as gather information on noise measurement methodologies and monitoring systems. This article briefly summarizes some of the findings and their implications for further research.
