Samenvatting

The RAC Report on Motoring 2011 is based on the views of 1,002 drivers in Britain provides a snapshot of motorists’ attitudes and behaviour in with regard to their vehicles, the road network, Government transport policy, and other drivers. Some of the key findings in this year’s report include: * The cost of motoring remains the primary concern for drivers. However, drink-driving, the condition of roads, driving without tax or insurance and mobile phone usage behind the wheel complete the top five. * Drivers are facing an increasingly tough fight to meet the rising cost of motoring but remain adamant there are few alternatives. This is particularly the case for rural drivers, though urban drivers are also feeling the pain. * The illegal use of mobile phones behind the wheel continues to be a problem, particularly amongst younger drivers.
