TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 1916 addresses customers’ reactions to the introduction of high-speed rail service in Korea, alternatives for railroad traffic simulation analysis, options for improving the energy efficiency of intermodal freight trains, the development of a new metric for release risk from a tank car, and methods for allocating costs of empty railcar movements. The papers contained in this volume were among those presented at the 84th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2005.
