This study tries to give a survey of the quantitative significance of the detention of road traffic in front of railway crossings. This study does not include the traffic on Sundays and holidays. Only detention between 7 a.m. and 19 p.m. is examined. No other vehicles than passenger cars, trucks and buses are considered.
