Real-time application of METANET in traffic management centres.

For the METANET traffic simulation model a role in the coordination of traffic management measures is foreseen. In order to investigate its potentials a pilot application was defined and METANET was modified and extended to model the available traffic management controls and to be able to provide real-time predictions of speed, flow and travel times. The model was then successfully connected to a real-time data interface. (A*)
