Samenvatting

For many types or parts of critical infrastructure, the knowledge of the in-situ properties of concrete is essential in construction control and compliance to the quality of the structure. A method has been successfully developed and implemented for real-time monitoring of in-situ concrete temperature, and instant duplication of in-situ condition in a chamber remotely. This technology enables sampled concrete to be cured in the same temperature regimes as in-situ concrete and subsequently tested in the laboratory for all properties of interest. Such a technology was developed and used in evaluating the in-situ strength of concrete in suspended post-tensioned slab. In this case, it is essential that a minimum concrete strength is reached before post-tensioning work can commence. This paper describes the technology and its application in post-tensioning decision during the construction of concrete slabs.
