Samenvatting

In the development of multimodal travel planners, it is necessary that the travel times are estimated in a realistic manner if users are to start using the planners. This paper reports on a study that aims to identify travel-time components that are important to the customer, and to verify if and how the customer reflects upon different activities during her trip andhow this is to be handle in multimodal travel planners. 12 potential users of multimodal travel planners with various views on and prerequisites for travel are given the task to conduct and document different trips with different types of transport during a period of four weeks. While using a diary the participant documents real travel-times and experiences of the different trips. In addition, face-to-face interview are conducted to ensurethat customer views are taken into account during the development.
