Samenvatting

Rearward-facing child seats are found to be one of the most effective protective systems in frontal collisions. Ten buckles on child seats currently available were tested and found to be too easy for children to open while at the same time too difficult for adults to open quickly in an emergency situation. Recommendations for new buckles and for the improvement of the harness design are made.
