Recent innovations in traffic barriers and other roadside safety appurtenances.

This paper describes recent innovations in devices such as the following: Guardrails, median barriers, bridge rails, impact attenuators, drainage structures, sign supports, mailbox installations, luminaire supports and utility poles. In addition, a multiple service level approach to selecting bridge rails for a given site based upon cost /benefit technology is described.
