Samenvatting

To summarize the present status of glare reduction work, it must be stated that there are many questions still open. However, many others have been solved, and many physical and physiological laws exist in this field. Effective prevention of glare must combine opthalmological and pathological findings in the eye of the driver reduction of glare sources combined with enlargement of the glare angles, and an increase of the luminance level on the road. Particular attention should be given to the problem of stray light production as discussed.
