Samenvatting
This paper sketches the development of mathematical models to describe traffic service on basic segments of two-lane, rural roads. In these models, overtaking plays a central role. The results of the final model are used to qualify traffic service. In addition the model is used to compute the effects of restricted sight distance, directional split of traffic volumes and the presence of slow moving vehicles.
