The dynamic impact tests for the first time using human volunteers to production-like driver air cushion system deployements at impact levels to a 30 mph barrier crash, are described. No significant injury was produced. Human kinematic and physical response to these impacts is presented. Comparisons are made between the volunteers and dummies.
