Samenvatting

In 2005 the Road Safety Council of Western Australia (RSC) produced a discussion paper addressing the issue of crash rates involving novice drivers. The paper brought together research and practical experience from around the world, and on the basis of this information made nine recommendations designed to reduce the incidence of crashes involving novice drivers. Once the discussion paper was prepared the RSC needed to understand community reaction to the proposed recommendations, as community support would be needed both for them to implemented and, more importantly, for them to actually deliver the anticipated benefits. To obtain this information, a large-scale systematic feedback process was developed and implemented, and it is the results of this process that are presented here. (Author/publisher)
