This book is a publication of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme-Alpes CNRS (UMS 1799, CNRS, Grenoble, France). It is co-authored by the members of a working group within the Groupe Opérationnel 3 (Operational Group GO3) of the PREDIT. The GO3’s mission is to develop new knowledge on road and transport safety, and to structure a research community working on these issues. The PREDIT is a programme for research, experimentation and innovation in land transport created on the initiative of the Ministries in charge of Transport, Research, the Environment, and Industry, with the support of the ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency) and the OSEO-ANVAR (French Agency for Innovation). It implements research programmes and encourages projects relating to public and private transport of goods or passengers, by road or rail, in urban areas or on inter-urban links. (Author/publisher)
