Responding to the car use challenge through understanding social and spatial diversity in car use.

This paper draws on the findings of previous research by the author (especially the influence of gender and parenting on car use) and other investigations into diversity in urban travel behaviour to demonstrate the need for new ways of looking at the urban transport challenge, specifically taming growth in car use.
