Samenvatting

The purpose of this paper is to develop test procedures and performance requirements to ensure that an anthropomorphic test device (ATD) is human-like and in its intended mode of use in order to develop side impact safety systems in motor vehicles. By applying the techniques discussed in the paper to a variety of impact conditions and intensities, necessary requirements have been developed to guide and evaluate the biofidelity of side impact ATD designs.
