Full-scale experiments were carried out to study the compacting of thin layers of open-textured and coarse dense asphalt concrete according to the Specifications 1967 of the Rijkswaterstaat. The compacting capacities of three-wheeled and tandem rollers and pneumatic tyres rollers were compared. From the compacting results the various roller types were calculated. See also A 5663 ).
