Samenvatting
In December 1976 a reversible buslane was opened on a dike between Rotterdam and the suburb of Krimpen aan den IJsel. This article gives the results of counts and interviews during before and after studies. The effect is quite clear: there is an increase in patronage by "must"-passengers, i.e. those who make home-work trips, which is a most favourable group of potential clients. The share of holders of driving licenses went up by 46% (non-holders only 6%). The overall effect on car movements between the two towns does not seem to be impressive, however.
