Samenvatting

This scientific poster presentation presents results of a detailed national study of legislation, policy, procedure and data with regard to the blood and breath testing of crash victims. The study report recommends that Australia implement uniform legislation on hospital blood testing of crash victims and include the BAC test results on the National Road Injury Database. The study also highlights problems with BAC reporting by police and includes the specification of a mathematical model for inputting BAC where blood and breath testing results are not available in police databases.
