A REVIEW OF NTCIP AND UTMC ACHIEVMENETS AND FUTURE KEY ISSUES.

This paper presents the personal viewpoint of the authors who have combined their experience in the UK and US to present a summary of the NTCIP andUTMC ITS Standards development process and its achievements to date. The authors examine how users and manufacturers have reacted to the standards and the benefits already obtained. They also present their views as to thenext key issues allowing the programmes to expand and embed the significant achievements of the programmes so far.
