Review of the relative merits of various types motor vehicle seat belts.

The statistical evidence that seat belts reduce injuries in motor vehicles is reviewed. Evidence of the superiority of belts incorporating upper torso restrained is presented and the relative merits of different types of belts are discussed. On page 40 a list of 17 references.
