A review of in-vehicle sleepiness detection devices.

This document provides a review of in-vehicle sleepiness detection devices, some of which are commercial devices and others are prototypes. Many devices have been developed and the market is continually changing to update to the latest designs. The purpose of the review is to outline and analyse current developments in the field and to identify a sub-set of sleepiness detection devices that are sufficiently promising for use in driving to be considered for possible future evaluations. The review identifies a sub-set of fifteen devices identified as potentially being worth evaluating in an experimental study of driver fatigue. (Author/publisher)
