Samenvatting

This right-turns-on-red regulation is studied and the following investigations made: (1) accident investigations; (2) observations of traffic conflicts and speed measurements; (3) studies of event reconstructions, and (4) interview surveys of local authorities and drivers. The results of these studies reveal the advantages and drawbacks of the use of the green arrow sign as regards road safety and the capacity of signal-controlled junctions equipped in this manner. The findings are presented.
