Samenvatting
This report deals with perception of the landscape. A description is given of the development of a method to forecast the effects of the construction or reconstruction of a highway on the characteristics of the picture of the landscape, as experienced by people. Thirteen of such characteristics have been selected to be used in this study. The method has been tested out in two areas : one for the construction of a highway, the other for the reconstruction of a highway. Besides the inhabitants of these areas, a group of outsiders took part in the investigation. The reactions of both groups to the construction of a highway are pointed out.
