Samenvatting
A statistical analysis has been made of road accidents in Bergen in daytime and in nighttime, with further subdivision according to winter/summer period, road and weather conditions, and compared with those in Bergen. Despite some adverse effects, such as an increase in speed limit in the period concerned, it is concluded that use of dipped headlights has had a favourable effect on the accident rate. Methods of measuring street lighting are briefly discussed.
