Samenvatting
Participating in traffic is an activity with great risks. This chapter reviews three models in which emphasis is given on the motivational aspect of risk: the model by Näätänen and Summala, the risk homeostasis model by Wilde, and the threat avoidance model of driver behaviour by Fuller. Thereafter the authors present and discuss their own new developed model, which overcomes the shortcomings of the others.
