A selection of representative accidents were studied in detail. These included accidents at: a) crossroads; b) loss of control on bends; and c) collisions at bends. In each case the kinematic reconstruction of the accident is provided. Methods which could prevent each accident are presented and discussed. These include: a) the installation of ISIS beacons plus an automatic on-board braking system; and b) an automatic vehicle guidance system.
