An innovative telecommunications-centred solution for how road pricing can be done using native capabilities of a mobile network is described. Instead of physical toll collection stations, a virtual toll collection booth is possible which can save money. The way this solution fits the Dutch situation is described. The whole process of installing units, the way of collecting data, mediation, rating, billing and payment is described. Furthermore, a global business-case is presented. Currently, pilots are being discussed with several regional government bodies. The state of these trials will be informed during the congress. For the covering abstract see E134653.
