Samenvatting

From the point of view of the motorist the expensive road pricing system does not offer additional benefits compared to the established tax collection methods. Traffic management and control by information is more efficient and cheaper than by road pricing in the absence of a tested and approved pricing concept. In countries where electronic road pricing is seen as the first step towards the privatisation of motorways an increase of traffic, safety and environmental problems must be expected. (A)
