Samenvatting

The Road Safety 2000 Stakeholder Survey was undertaken as part of the review of the NSW Road Safety 2000 Strategic Plan. The development and implementation of the Road Safety 2000 Strategic Plan involves extensive consultation and co-ordination with key stakeholders, interest groups and the wider community. The support and commitment of stakeholders is therefore critical to the long term success of the Strategy. The aim of the Stakeholder Survey was to: explore stakeholder attitudes, values, and beliefs with respect to Road Safety 2000; identify critical issues, trends/developments and problems associated with Road Safety 2000; and to determine stakeholders views on priorities and future directions for the Strategy. The Stakeholder Survey involved 65 face-to-face interviews, comprised of both internal (RTA) and external stakeholders. The survey found that there was strong support for the Road Safety 2000 Strategy, as well as identifying strengths and weaknesses of the Strategy, and suggestions for future directions. (A)
