Samenvatting

In the U.K. 90% of road accidents resulting in death or injury to the younger school age group (5-9 years) occur when the children are crossing the road or cycling. The report describes activities aimed at reducing the number of such accidents to children by road safety education, training propaganda and the provision of crossing facilities as well as some of the research carried out to evaluate and to improve the effectiveness of these measures.
