Samenvatting

A reduction of the number of road casualties can be effected in various ways. Inside built-up areas it can be greatly contributed to by infrastructural measures, provided that adaptations are made in accordance with the function of the road. A division can be made into residential zones - "woonerf" and 30 km/h zone - and traffic zones - 50 km/h and 70 km/h roads. In the Netherlands successful experiments have been done with specific measures, exclusive for each type. (A)
