Road and Vehicle Safety Research covers the behaviour of drivers and other road users and the primary and secondary safety of vehicles. This volume concentrates on road user safety projects and includes summaries of research completed over the last three years and current, ongoing projects. A companion volume on vehicle safety is published separately. The projects are grouped according to general themes. Entries of recently completed projects include lists of outputs. Reports published by the Department for Transport (DfT) are listed in Appendix 1 and can be obtained from either the DfT’s website or from DfT Publications if a paper copy is shown as available. Where reports are shown as being available from the contractor, the relevant address will be found in Appendix 2. This Research Compendium is also available online on the Road Safety Research home page (address below). New work will be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union and/or relevant newspapers and journals, and on the DfT’s website.
