Samenvatting

Carried out between June and September 2007, engaging a cross section of practitioners and stakeholders, the scoping study investigated the range of issues around the commissioning, dissemination and use of road safety research. The report contains an overview of the methodology use, key findings from the study, implications for the dissemination programme and detailed annexes covering the findings of the survey, focus groups and stakeholder interviews. The views of road safety professionals and stakeholders were sought with regard to issues such as current use of evidence, barriers to accessing research and preferences for future dissemination. Overall the study produced positive feedback about quality and range, and indicated a high level of awareness of research activities. Useful comments and suggestions were also received, covering issues such as dissemination, accessibility, navigation, relevance and possible integration of research programmes. (Author/publisher)
