This research deals with the question whether or not heathy strips, like poor sandy and open road-side verges, can direct dispersal movements of stenotopic carabid beetles from one heathland fragment towards another, and under what conditions. From the results of this research recommenations for the creation and management of dispersal corridors, like heathy road-side verges, can be formulated.
