Samenvatting

In this paper we demonstrate that control of traffic deaths and injuries must follow the same principles as control of any other public health problem. Almost all of us have to be part of traffic as motorised or non-motorised road users every day and this is not always by choice. Health effects of road traffic, due to accidents and pollution, concern every one and therefore the problem has to analysed as one of public health. (A)
