Samenvatting

Deciding which travel demands can be met can be made easier by applying certain principles. These principles are based on the inter-relationship between land use and traffic and may be regarded as a summary of the various measures taken to achieve a balance between feasible travel speeds, accessibility, safety, freedom from disturbance, aesthetic aspects and amenity. The three principles are inter-related and thus cannot be applied individually.
