Samenvatting
The report describes the main results of investigations recently conducted in the USSR with the aim of substantiating road building in developing regions of this country. These outlying regions before the beginning of their development were characterized by low density of population explained by unfavourable natural conditions, and road building has promoted their economic and social development.
