Roadway operational performance : refinements to tools, processes and methods, to effect improvements in roadway safety (roadway operational performance).

This paper was presented at the "Geometric design and safety" session. These proceedings are available on CD-ROM. This paper presents the refined tools, processes and methods used to effect improvements in traffic safety currently being undertaken by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO). An outline of the work completed to date and that which is expected to be done, should provide "food for thought" regarding future traffic safety considerations for all road authorities. (A)
