Samenvatting

Alcohol remains the major intoxicant of importance in injury road accidents in New Zealand, although for younger drivers it appears possible that cannabis may make significant contribution. Prescription drugs appear to constitute a negligible problem in this country, although it is possible that better instrumentation might detect more of the drugs which the drivers themselves reported using.
