Samenvatting
The choice of design standards is discussed in terms of needs of traffic and characteristics of the road, and details of Department of Environments requirements for lanterns, light sources, columns etc. to be employed on grant aided systems, are given. Figures of expenditure committed on trunk road lighting schemes, and of grants issued to highway authorities to assist them in undertaking principal road lighting schemes, are quoted.
