Samenvatting

The present paper addresses one special aspect of the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) concerning perceived probability of detection as an antecedent of drivers' attitudes towards speed choice. Perceived probability of detection is usually mentioned as an important reason for compliance with the law but it has been found difficult to include it as a belief within the TPB framework. The issue is discussed in the present paper and the discussion is based on some empirical data.
