Samenvatting

The incidence of persons who drive under the influence of psychotropic drugs, either alone or in combination with alcohol, is not known. The use of psychotropic drugs immediately before driving may be as high as 15% in selected groups such as those subsequently involved in a traffic accident. Until legislation which provides for the testing for psychoactive drugs is introduced, the role of these drugs in the causation of traffic accidents will not be known.
