Samenvatting

ROSE 25 (which stands for Road Safety Education in all 25 EU Member States) has been launched by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Transport and Energy (DG TREN) with the intention to provide a detailed inventory of Road Safety Education (RSE) in the European Union (EU). The main purpose of this report is to: • Outline the status of RSE in the EU • Collect good practice in RSE for children and teenagers • Compile European Guidelines and recommendations for good practice The work has been undertaken by a consortium that includes BAST (Germany), Pau Education (Spain), Traffic Test (Netherlands), VTI (Sweden) and TRL (United Kingdom), and led by the Austrian Road Safety Board. The core group, consisting of representatives from these institutions, has been supported by a network of country experts throughout the EU. The core group was responsible for the methodological framework, as well as the selection of examples of good practice. Information has been collected through standardised questionnaires on actions, media and RSE curricula. In addition, the main facts are summarised in brief country reports. Part I focuses on RSE infrastructure and networks in RSE. Part II focuses on examples of good practice in the EU. Part III focuses on policy recommendations. (Author/publisher)
